North Fulton Jaycees April 2007 Newsletter

President: Jessica Buckles

Hello North Fulton,

I hope that everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather that we are having. As the year is progressing, we are so excited about the coming months. We have a great new project at the end of April. We will be hosting a Benefit Ride and the proceeds will go to Relay for Life. Be on the look out for more information. We are also gearing up for the end of the 1st Trimester and there is one word that comes to mind…JEKYLL!!! I hope that many of you are making plans to join us and the Great Georgia Jaycees. If you need any information just call me.

There is one main thing that makes North Fulton stand out and that is the family that we have. I know that the past few months have been hard for some people and their families and I would personally like to let you know that we are thinking about you. Bob and Amanda, and Sarah and Alex, we are here for you and hope to see you again soon. But the past month has also been a happy month for some and we would like to congratulate our own Sarah Hill in her accomplishments at Nationals. Sarah you made us proud and I know that you made Georgia Proud. Also I would like to congratulate Christina!

I want to personally thank our wonderful chapter officers. They are all doing a great job and it is because of you that we have had such a successful trimester. With your help we will!

Rise to the Challenge.

Community VP: Maria Basting

Hello North Fulton,

I hope all is well. First I would like to remind everyone about Noah's Ark Easter Baskets. We will be delivering the baskets on Saturday April 7, 2007. Our plan is to meet at the club house at 10:30 am. We will have a early lunch and caravan down to Noah's ark. Second, we will be holding our 1st annual Benefit Ride on April 28, 2007 at 10:30am. Our start location is Killer Creek in Alpharetta and we will be ending at Massey's Bar and Grill in Alpharetta. The ride will last around 3 hours. I still need a chairman for upcoming projects. Don't forget to be collecting your coke can tabs.

Thanks,

We are rapidly approaching our first trimester competitions and it is time to start thinking about what you are going to compete in, I have had a few people express interest, and I would like to thank those people that have. There have been some changes to the competitions structure this year. In order to compete in state competitions, you must have won at the region level. Please let me know what you are interested in competing in. Remember…. Competitions are to help better you for life, and if there are any questions on how much fun you can have at Nationals, just ask giggles.

Also, congratulations to our Star Student Twins for the Month of February/March, the Parrish twins. For those of you that have not heard, these twins forewent their Christmas presents and donated the money equivalent to a family that the North Fulton Jaycees sponsored for Christmas assistance. I am looking forward to our next star student of the month. I want to give a big thank you to Lynelle, as she has been working very hard to make sure this project run smoothly.

FYI…… Mystery Dinner Theater has been moved. As of right now, the mystery dinner theater is slotted for Saturday August 16th, however, this date depends on the bid for the region meeting, and could be moved to August 4th. The dinner theater will also be in conjunction with the kickoff for the Haunted House.

Please remember to bring your baby pictures for the Who Am I project…… I would like to get this project started relatively soon.

Thanks for all your help in membership this year. We have had an awesome year so far, but I need help for us to be at growth 1st trimester. As I predicted, April is here and I am far from showing up in drag in Jekyll. You guys only need 2 more new members to get your free pizza party, but you need 6 more for me to show up in drag at Jekyll. On a personal note, Adam, I can already taste that steak!

Don't forget we have discount tickets for the Renaissance festival. Please see Cassie Johnson for tickets. Adults are $13 and Children are $5.50. The chapter will be going together on June 2, 2007. But our tickets are good for any day they are open this year.

If your membership dues are due you will be getting a letter. If you need to be set up on a payment plan please call. Remember you will get $5 towards your membership dues every time you work an event at the Gwinnett Arena.

If your dues are coming up, I will be getting in touch with you, REMEMBER you will get $5 towards your membership dues for every Gwinnett Arena event you work!
